What Seminyak is like
Seminyak households are mostly long-term apartment and villa residents, plus a good number of owners who split the year between Bali and home. Petitenget and Oberoi are dense, with small compounds, little or no garden, and dogs walked on the street or along the beach in the evening. How often should a maltese or shih tzu be clipped in this climate?
Every four to six weeks if you keep the coat short, six to eight if you want it longer and you are brushing daily. Seminyak humidity mats a long coat faster than most owners expect, particularly where the collar or harness sits. If it has already matted tight to the skin, the honest answer is that a short clip is the only comfortable option, because we will not tug mats out of a dog.
