What Sanur is like
Sanur has a settled, long-stay population: retirees, people who have been here fifteen or twenty years, and families in the quiet lanes behind Danau Tamblingan. These are permanent homes rather than short rentals, so we tend to see the same dogs on a regular cycle and get to know how each one handles the table. Batu Jimbar and Semawang are calm in the morning, which suits nervous and older animals.
What we usually see on coats here
A high proportion of Sanur dogs are seniors, eight, ten, thirteen years old, and that changes how we work. Arthritic hips mean short standing time and a hand supporting the belly, thin or brittle coats mean lower dryer heat, and a deaf or cloudy-eyed dog needs to be touched before it is moved so it is not startled. We never sedate, so an older dog gets breaks and a longer session instead of being pushed through in one run.
What it costs
Same price list everywhere in Bali. Pickup within 5 km of the salon is free; beyond that we agree the fee before we set off.

Questions from Sanur
My dog is thirteen and has bad hips. Is grooming still safe for him?
Usually yes, as long as it is done in stages. We keep him standing as little as possible, support him rather than making him hold a pose, and stop when he has had enough instead of finishing at all costs. Tell us about the hips, any heart or skin condition and any medication when you book so we can plan the session around it. We do not use sedation on any animal, at any age.
Can you come early? My dog does badly in the heat.
Yes. Sanur is a twenty to thirty minute drive so we can be at your gate first thing, and the early slot also means a quieter salon with fewer dogs in the building. Older and anxious dogs handle that far better than a midday session. Ask for the first run of the day when you book.
